Maxine’s Music Club!
The launch of my new newsletter!
I don’t typically address my own existence on here (lol), but I’m launching my own newsletter via Substack!
I decided to call it Maxine’s Music Club with the idea of wanting to create a community of music lovers. As someone who grew up on social media and can’t stand how the waters get murkier every day, I hope it will be a healthier place for virtual music discussion :)
To give the rundown on what it’ll include (as of now)…
I create and share bi-weekly playlists — each month will have a themed playlist and a general ‘favorites’ playlist! Each playlist is a collaborative playlist on Spotify, so feel free to add your picks that match the theme, and leave in the comments/reply why you chose those tracks and why you love them! (If you don’t use Spotify, you can simply comment and I’ll add your songs to the playlist!)
Automatically join the dedicated Maxine’s Music Club chat (through Substack web/app)— to talk about anything and everything!
🌟 BONUS 🌟 Sporadically, I will post a music-related think piece of any topic that’s on my mind! Think of it as an extension to my writing here on Medium.
Subscribe (for free) to get all of the above in your inbox, and for full access to the publication archives!
…Coming Soon?
(Psst… More exclusive, exploratory music-related write ups — such as discussing/analyzing older albums, discography & genre dives, cultural commentary, etc. will hopefully be coming soon! Be sure to subscribe if you want to see where that’s headed…)
As of now, I still plan to post on here with the same kind of material, but the newsletter is just a more casual, fun way to connect with people directly! (To be frank, it’s also an excuse to write about more selfish or untimely music things — and hopefully, a new solid way to support me as a writer!)
My first newsletter has just been posted, and it’s for the first playlist called “In Time For Roses” — inspired by the romantic nature of late spring / early summer. I hope you give it a listen! (And maybe add your own songs!)
Also, not very related, but in terms of exciting milestones, I want to express my gratitude for my first time hitting 1,000 views on one of my articles! It’s my most viewed by miles and basically by default, also my most read! Obviously most of those people will not see this (lol), but thank you anyway!
I also think it’s funny thinking about how my biggest article before this was my IU Lilac Album Review at about 300+ views — I see you, Uaena 👀
I guess this is the chance to say that if you’ve supported my writing in any form, I am genuinely so thankful ❤
If you like my writing on here, you might like my newsletter! I hope you subscribe, but if not… well, I’ll still be here :)
